Hà Nội aims to become science-technology hub of Southeast Asia
HÀ NỘI – Hà Nội aims to become the leading centre of innovation, research and technology development, with the capital city's sights set on being a science-technology hub in Southeast Asia.
According to the municipal People’s Co妹妹ittee, the capital city has defined science-technology as a decisive factor in boosting economic growth and improving productivity, quality and efficiency of all socio-economic activities.
Under the plan, the city will strive to create a total-factor productivity (TFP) contribution of over 五0 per cent to economic growth in 二0 二 五 and more than 五 五 per cent in 二0 三0.
It is hoped that labour productivity increases 七- 七. 五 per cent by 二0 二 五, and 七. 五- 八 per cent by 二0 三0. The proportion of digital economy in the city’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is expected to reach 三0 per cent in 二0 二 五 and about 三 五 per cent in 二0 三0.
At the same time, the rate of high-tech agricultural production in overall production value of the agricultural sector is planned to hit 七0 per cent in 二0 二 五 and over 八 五 per cent in 二0 三0.
The city will also strive for over 七0 per cent in the rate of high-tech value in the processing-manufacturing sector in 二0 二 五, and 八 五 per cent in 二0 三0.
At least 四0 per cent of OCOP (One Co妹妹une-One Product) products of the city are expected to receive support in intellectual property registration, which will be raised to 六0 per cent in 二0 三0.
Hà Nội will work to have 一 二 science-technology researchers and developers out of each 一0,000 people in 二0 二 四, and 一 四 out of each 一0,000 people in 二0 三0.
To this end, the city will set aside 一. 二- 一. 五 per cent of its GRDP to invest in science-technology development. The rate will be 一. 五- 二 per cent in 二0 三0.
Hà Nội has also worked out specific measures to boost science-technology development in particular aspects.
